The HP Tablet PC Project is hosted by the Instituto de Informática - INF (Computer Science Institute) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in the city of Goiânia, located in the state of Goiás in Brazil.

Goiânia is the capital of the state of Goiás, located in the Center-West region of Brazil, approximately 200 km from Brasília the country's capital. Goiania was one of Brazil’s first planned cities and has immense green spaces and an excellent quality of life. The city is famous for its art deco architecture and active nightlife.
The Federal University of Goiás is a federal higher education teaching and research institution, associated with the Ministry of Education of Brazil, created on December 14, 1960. Today it has 28 academic units that offer ??? undergraduate programs with a total of ??? students, and 43 graduate courses, being thirty of these master programs and 13 doctoral programs (2008). It is the most important higher education institution in the State of Goiás and an active participant in the social development and technological advancement of the region.
